These chemicals contain odd electrons and are always trying to become stable by attacking molecules and leading to cell destruction.

The free radical snatches an electron from a neighboring molecule, leading to the transformation of that molecule into a free radical in turn.

The new free radical pulls an electron out of the next molecule, causing a chemical reaction in the chain to produce the radicals. The molecules will undergo a change and will no longer be able to function, and this will lead to the destruction of the cell that contains it, and further to the tissues.
